Pakistan has officially launched the New Energy Vehicle Policy 2025–30, targeting a 30% increase in electric vehicle (EV) sales by 2030. This ambitious plan aims to modernize the country’s transport sector while reducing dependence on imported oil.
Under the policy, the government will establish 3,000 EV charging stations across Pakistan, making electric vehicle adoption more convenient for citizens. Additionally, a subsidy scheme worth Rs122 billion has been announced, with Rs9 billion allocated for this year alone to encourage the purchase of EVs.
The rollout includes 116,000 electric bikes and 3,170 e-rickshaws, marking a significant step toward sustainable urban mobility. By supporting electric vehicles, Pakistan is moving closer to its climate targets and a greener future.
