The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has modulated an assembly on August 24 (Sunday) to watch the moon to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi, where festivities are foreseen to take place on September 5 in the event that the moon is sighted. The meeting, to be chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, will include scholars as well as the officials of the ministry of science and technology, the meteorological department and the SUPARCO.

Zonal and district moon sighting panels will also hold simultaneous meetings so as to present any viable sightings to the centre committee where confirmation would be made. PARCO has predicted high prospects of seeing the moon on August 24 and this will be born on August 23 at 11:06 am. The moon will be more than 32 hours old by the time the sun sets on the 24th, and along the coastline there will be a 45-minute window in which the moon will not be up.
