On Wednesday, flight operations at Karachi airport were affected massively due to extreme weather conditions that led to delays and cancellation of flight services regarding flights to domestic and international destinations. At least 12 flights were also delayed, among them an Iraqi Airways flight to Najaf which left 1 hour late at 6.00 a.m. and an Airblue flight to Jeddah (PK-170) which left a little more than six and a half hours behind schedule at 10 a.m.

Other flight delays involved Qatar Airways, Flydubai, Etihad, as their flight to Doha, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi are delayed by some time, respectively. Disruption was also experienced on domestic services A PIA flight 455 to Skardu was delayed 1 hour, Serene Air 520 to Lahore was delayed 30 minutes with PIA 300 to Islamabad delayed 20 minutes.

The AirSial 121 to Islamabad and PIA 302 to Lahore were delayed beyond their scheduled departure time in addition to PIA 503 to Gwadar being cancelled. A Saudi Airlines flight to Jeddah (701) took off later at 10:10 am after some delay of about an hour.

The unrest at the Karachi airport has come in the wake of two days of heavy showers which have resulted in the city fighting a major electricity crisis. K-Electric records 98 feeders underperforming, submergence of underground cables, and power outages across in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Surjani Town, M.A. Jinnah Road, and others. Residents not only experience blackouts but water supply is also disrupted which makes their lives harder.
