The Cyber Emergency Response Team of the state of Punjab has issued an alert noting that it is a high-risk against which all government departments, organizations, and individuals need to apply the upgrade immediately, or they risk being hacked on their Apple devices. The advisory cautions that there are several vulnerabilities that are considered critical on Apple platforms and hence attackers may have the ability to gain unauthorized access, steal or even fully compromise affected systems.

The technical defects determined are CVE-2025-31229, logic vulnerability corrected with tighter controls; CVE-2025-43222, a use-after-free intent; CVE-2025-43217, privacy indicator microphone and camera visibility; and CVE-2025-43186, which results in unforeseen application drops in file parsing. These are threats to iOS 18.6, iPadOS 18.6, macOS Sequoia 15.6, macOS Sonoma 14.7.7, macOS Ventura 13.7.7, WatchOS 11.6, TvOS 18.6, VisionOS 2.6, iPad 17.79, and Safari 18.6.

Punjab CERT evaluates the threat as critical with possible repercussions including remotely taking over of the device, unauthorized access, loss of information and an overall takeover of the system. Users and system administrators are highly recommended to install the latest updates at once. Putting off of such updates can expose gadgets to cyber hacking.
