Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan held talks in Dhaka with Bangladesh’s Adviser for Industries Adilur Rahman Khan on Thursday, focusing on ways to strengthen Pakistan-Bangladesh industrial cooperation. Both sides agreed that deeper collaboration could support food security, value addition in the food sector, and the adoption of modern industrial technology.
The two officials stressed the exchange of expertise through delegation visits and knowledge sharing. The commerce minister underlined Pakistan’s interest in becoming part of Bangladesh’s expanding industrial base through joint ventures, investment, and industrial cooperation. He also called for a shared vision that could create a more supportive economic environment for growth.
Pointing to positive trends in bilateral trade, Jam Kamal said the next step was to build a long-term and sustainable partnership. He praised Bangladesh’s success in pharmaceuticals, textiles, and information technology while highlighting the importance of value-added industries for revenue generation and socio-economic progress.

Bangladesh’s industries adviser acknowledged the country’s rising industrial needs and welcomed Pakistan’s willingness to engage. He identified shipbuilding, leather, sugar, agro-processing, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as potential areas for joint collaboration.
The meeting ended with both countries reaffirming their commitment to expand bilateral trade and industrial development through cooperative efforts.
