Pakistan has won its maiden ice hockey tournament ever after the national team won the LATAM Cup Division III Championship held in the United States. Pakistan were again the decisive team as they beat Peru 6-1 winning the tournament without making one wrong move.

The women team was also impressive receiving a bronze medal in the Division II category. They represent the growing talent and commitment of Pakistani sportsmen as their own country is only recently happening to the sport.

The event consisted of more than 62 teams representing 17 countries and thus the victory by Pakistan was spectacular. The success of this will encourage aspiring athletes and grow the fan base of ice hockey in the country of Pakistan. Sports enthusiasts and the youth organizations are already looking forward to increased joining to the men and women sports teams.
