The KP govt salary deduction for flood relief has been officially announced, making it mandatory for government and semi-government employees to contribute from their monthly pay. This step is aimed at generating immediate funds for families hit hard by the devastating monsoon floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which have destroyed infrastructure and displaced thousands.

According to the Finance Department’s notification, officers in Grade 17 and above will donate two days’ basic salary, while employees in Grades 1 to 16 will contribute one day’s pay. The salary deduction in KP will be implemented starting from the August 2025 payroll and will apply to all government, semi-government, and even certain private sector institutions.

The decision was approved during a provincial cabinet meeting, where officials highlighted the urgent need for resources to provide food, shelter, and medical care to flood-affected families. Relief funds gathered through the KP govt salary deduction for flood relief will also be utilized for rehabilitation efforts in heavily damaged districts such as Battagram, Bajaur, and Mansehra.

Recent floods have left a tragic impact, with official figures confirming more than 368 deaths, 182 injuries, and severe damage to over 1,300 houses and 100 schools. Authorities emphasized that collective action is the only way to rebuild lives and restore communities.

This initiative from the KP government complements federal-level measures, as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and cabinet members have pledged one month’s salary to support ongoing relief operations. In coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), medical teams, food supplies, and tents are being dispatched to the most affected areas.
