The Pakistan Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor is a landmark effort to intensify academic, professional and cultural interactions between the two countries. The program will optimize cross-border learning experiences as well as the development of institutional ties in the long run.
With the plan, 500 scholarships will be given to the Bangladesh students within a period of five years where 25 percent will be given under medical education. Also, 100 Bangladesh civil servants will receive specialized training, and 5 to 25 scholarships of the Pakistan Technical Assistance Program 25
The announcement was made during the historic visit by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar to Dhaka who was visiting the country after a long gap of 13 years by a visiting Pakistani foreign minister. Dar has had discussions with foreign adviser of Bangladesh, Touhid Hossain, on liberalization of trade, education, cultural exchange, diplomacy and others areas of cooperation.
