Manchester United’s search for a first Premier League win of the season goes on after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham at Craven Cottage.

United looked in control when summer signing Leny Yoro scored his first goal for the club, giving the visitors a deserved lead. But Fulham stayed in the game and were rewarded late in the second half when Emile Smith Rowe found the equaliser, sparking wild celebrations among the home supporters.

The biggest talking point of the night came in the 33rd minute when United were awarded a penalty. Captain Bruno Fernandes, normally so reliable from the spot, sent his effort high over the bar, his first penalty miss in nearly three years. The miss proved costly as Fulham grew in confidence and eventually snatched a point.

Fulham defender Calvin Bassey later claimed United’s opener should not have stood, insisting he was fouled in the build-up. But despite his protests, the goal was allowed and the match ended with both sides settling for a draw.

For United, it was another frustrating evening with pressure beginning to mount, while Fulham will feel proud of their fightback against one of the league’s biggest teams.
