The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a fresh weather advisory, warning of intense rainfall across Punjab and Azad Kashmir over the next 12 to 24 hours.
According to the alert, hilly regions of Azad Kashmir including Neelum Valley, Bagh, Kotli, Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad, and Haveli are expected to face intermittent heavy rainfall. This increases the risk of landslides and flash floods, which could severely disrupt road networks and traffic movement.
In addition, the NDMA has already issued a separate warning regarding the rising water levels in the Sutlej River, where flooding threats remain high. As a precaution, large-scale evacuation operations are being carried out in nearby areas to protect residents.
