The UAE men cricket team, which is led by accomplished opener Muhammad Waseem, has announced its 15-man squad that will compete in the T20I Tri-Series 2025. The tournament will be hosted in Sharjah Cricket Stadium, which starts on Friday, 29 August, 2014. The series will feature the hosts Pakistan and Afghanistan are also participating.
UAE will enter the tournament on Saturday, 30 August where they will be facing off against Pakistan. The Tri-Series can also be seen as a significant warm-up ground of all three teams before the ACC Asia Cup 2025, an eight teams tournament that will be the highlight of the ACC in the U.A.E on 9 September.
The team consists of Muhammad Waseem (captain), Alishan Sharafu, Aryansh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Asif Khan, Dhruv Parashar, Ethan D souza, Haider Ali, Harshit Kaushik, Junaid Siddique, Muhammad Farooq, Muhammad Jawadullah, Muhammad Zohaib, Rahul Chopra (wicketkeeper) and Rohid Khan and Saghir Khan.
Cricket enthusiasts should anticipate a competitive match as Waseem takes on UAE against some of the best the Asian continent has to offer. UAE will also be keen to run through their strategies and desired team permutations and combinations as the series will play a vital role in giving them valuable match practice before the Asia Cup. The attention will continue to be on Waseem and his leadership since the home team eyes to make a stamp of authority in their presence before their fans.
