The Bahria Town Residents Welfare Association (BTRWA) has urged the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to issue a clear statement regarding the future management structure of Bahria Town, amid growing uncertainty over the role of Bahria Town Private Limited (BTPL).
In a letter addressed to RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza on August 26, 2025, the BTRWA highlighted concerns that if BTPL withdraws its operations, it could trigger confusion, unverified claims, and disputes among different groups seeking control. The association stressed that this uncertainty is causing significant anxiety among residents.
BTRWA emphasized its legitimacy as the registered and legal representative body of Bahria Town residents since 2011, operating under the ICT Charities Registration Act. The organization noted its democratic structure, regular elections, and decade-long track record of representing residents’ welfare before courts, regulators, and authorities.

The residents’ body called on RDA to clarify its stance and outline a future management framework in case BTPL ceases operations. Such a move, it argued, would reassure residents, provide stability, and strengthen regulatory oversight.
BTRWA also reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate with the RDA in addressing any operational or legal challenges under prevailing rules. The association stated that it remains prepared to engage with the regulator to ensure uninterrupted management and protection of residents’ rights.
