The Government of Pakistan has announced a subsidy of up to Rs. 80,000 on electric motorcycles in Pakistan, making them affordable through easy monthly installments. This initiative is part of the New Energy Vehicle Policy 2025-30, aimed at promoting eco-friendly transport and reducing fuel dependency.

Under the scheme, citizens can apply online between September 1 and September 30, 2025, to avail themselves of 40,000 electric bikes and 1,000 electric rickshaws at discounted prices in the first phase of fiscal year 2025-26. The final selection of beneficiaries will be carried out through a computerized ballot on October 1, 2025.

Buyers will also get an additional bonus of up to Rs. 10,000 on each electric motorcycle, making it even more economical. Furthermore, the government has reduced 14% duty on e-rickshaws and related parts, which is expected to save nearly Rs. 200 billion in import costs.

For easy financing, citizens can benefit from two-year installment loans of up to Rs. 200,000 for electric motorcycles, while rickshaw buyers can access three-year installment plans up to Rs. 880,000. Special provisions have also been reserved for female delivery riders and fleet operators, encouraging inclusivity in the green mobility sector.

This project is being implemented in collaboration with the Engineering Development Board under the supervision of the Ministry of Industries and Production, Government of Pakistan.
