An earthquake struck parts of Pakistan just after midnight, with tremors reported in several major cities, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to initial reports, residents in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Murree and other cities felt the shocks.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s National Seismic Monitoring Centre reported that the earthquake, measuring a magnitude of 6, had its epicenter in the Hindu Kush region.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received so far, but officials are monitoring the situation closely.
