In Lahore General Hospital, a newborn boy was allegedly abducted by two veiled women in the nursery section of the facility, which cast serious doubts on the security measures in the hospital. The mother of the baby, Zeenat Bibi, who lives in the Kahna area, was in a state of shock after the incidence. The child who was born only two days ago was under medical surveillance when the alleged abduction took place.

As stated by hospital authorities, the women walked into the nursery at around noon and took the child outside as recorded by surveillance cameras. Family members complained loudly that higher-ranking personnel like the emergency director were allegedly absent at the time of the incident.

To this, the hospital management suspended ward attendant Shakeela Bibi and employee Muhammad Usman. Notices of show-cause were issued to the ward sister in charge and staff nurse and a formal departmental investigation has been initiated.
