The Commonwealth Scholarship 2025 for Pakistan has officially been announced. This scholarship offers an incredible fully funded opportunity for Master’s and PhD studies in the United Kingdom.
Under this program, 26 scholarships are reserved for Masters level students and 30 for PhD applicants. Since 1960, the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) has supported over 30,000 individuals worldwide, helping them gain skills, knowledge and networks to address global development issues.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be Pakistani or AJ&K nationals and permanent residents. Dual nationals cannot apply.
- For Master’s, candidates must hold a first-division degree (16 years of education).
- For PhD, a first-division degree in 17/18 years of relevant studies is required.
- No second or third division is allowed in the last degree. Result-awaiting students can apply.
- A minimum score of 60 in the HAT test is mandatory. Only HAT-I, II, III, and IV are acceptable.
- Merit will be based strictly on HAT scores.
CSC Requirements
Applicants must be ready to start studies in the UK by September 2026. Those applying for a second UK Master’s must provide a valid reason. Candidates also need to submit full academic transcripts, two references and for PhD, a supporting statement from a UK supervisor.
Application Process
- Students must apply on both CSC and HEC portals:
- Submit the online form at the Commonwealth Scholarship portal (separate links for Master’s and PhD).
- Apply at the HEC scholarship portal, print the form, and keep a signed copy.
- HEC clarified that incomplete applications or submissions on only one portal will not be entertained. No hard copies are required unless requested via email.

Important Notes
- Female candidates are strongly encouraged, with a minimum 45% nomination reserved for women.
- HEC acts only as a facilitator. The final selection will be made by CSC in the UK.
- False information can lead to cancellation and permanent disqualification.
This scholarship remains a key opportunity for Pakistanis who cannot afford UK education without financial support. Interested applicants are advised to complete their online applications well in advance as the final deadline is October 14, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
