Thousands of teachers across Punjab are still waiting to receive payment for marking Quality Assurance Test (QAT) papers, sparking widespread frustration among the teaching community.
Despite approvals from the Finance Committee and relevant authorities, the Punjab Examination Commission for Test Administration (PECTA) has not yet released the necessary funds. Sources report that multiple payment files remain pending approval at the PECTA office, leaving teachers in limbo for their rightful compensation.

Over 3,000 trainers from across the Punjab province participated in checking the test papers. As per the official rates, each paper is compensated at Rs. 20 and Rs. 0.50 is given per marked number, a rate teachers already consider insufficient. The delayed payments have only added to their disappointment.
Affected teachers have warned that if payments are not released immediately, they will refuse to participate in any future paper marking duties. “Teachers work tirelessly for the improvement of the education system, but the treatment we are receiving is disheartening,” one teacher said.
