With the change of season, cases of the dengue virus are increasing rapidly in the twin cities as 19 new cases emerged, taking the total number of patients to 248. Of these, 11 were found in Rawalpindi and 8 in Islamabad.
Islamabad’s District Health Officer, Dr. Asjadah Batool, explained that the cases keep on increasing following the recent rains and called upon residents to adopt stringent preventive measures. In the capital city, 8 new patients were confirmed positive within a span of 24 hours–6 from rural areas, increasing the total number there to 166, and 2 from urban areas, raising the number to 31.
Rawalpindi has added 11 new cases during the last 24 hours, taking its total during the season to 144. There are 51 patients under treatment in hospitals, and 21 patients are being treated in Murree. The hill station added a single case and now has its total at 84.

According to the Rawalpindi District Health Authority, 5,430 persons were screened in 2025. Surveillance was done in over 4.55 million houses, among which larvae were found in over 100,000. During the crackdown, 3,309 FIRs were registered, 1,517 locations sealed, and challans totaling 3,134 handed out.
Fines amounting to Rs 8.893 million were recovered in Rawalpindi, while in Murree 201 locations were sealed with Rs 885,000 as fines. With the changing weather, authorities remain calling for citizens to embrace safety measures to stem the virus case outbreak.
