The Lahore Museum is to be expanded on special directions of Chief Minister Punjab, to become one of the most modern cultural centers in the region.
The new museum will be built on 7 kanals of prime land and will include a two-story modern building with wide visitor parking space.
The modernised museum will feature 6 ultra-modern galleries each with an exclusive theme. All historical artifacts, which were kept in warehouses before, will be shown to people, and the experience will be not only informative but also visually impressive. The visitor has an opportunity to visit interactive exhibitions with digital curation, augmentation, and modern technologies taken to the next level.
The initial phase of this grand 5 year project is to ensure that the building is finished and linked to the current heritage museum using a secure underpass. The total investment of Rs. 8.7 billion will target tourists and culture lovers both within Pakistan and abroad.
