The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has revealed that around 7 million (70 lakh) adult Pakistani citizens have yet to obtain their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), despite crossing the age of 18.
In a public awareness campaign, NADRA urged all eligible citizens to apply for their CNICs without delay. According to NADRA data, these individuals have reached adulthood but never submitted applications for identity cards, leaving them deprived of basic civic rights and services.
The authority emphasized that parents should ensure their children apply for CNICs immediately after turning 18. Citizens can submit their requests through NADRA’s centers nationwide or via the Pak Identity Mobile App, which facilitates online applications.

NADRA has also reminded the public that CNICs are essential for voting, accessing government services, opening bank accounts, and availing various legal rights.
The campaign highlights NADRA’s commitment to expanding registration and ensuring every eligible Pakistani is documented under the national database.
