The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has issued notices to well-known youtubers and social media influencers over the promotion of online gambling apps. This move targets personalities who allegedly encouraged illegal betting through their platforms.

According to officials, influencers Rajab Butt, Iqra Kanwal and Muhammad Ans Ali have been summoned on September 9 for questioning. The investigation aims to uncover the role of these influencers in spreading awareness about illegal betting apps among users.

Rajab Butt, one of Pakistan most-followed YouTubers, is at the center of the investigation. The NCCIA has accused him of promoting online gambling apps and encouraging young people to invest in them. He is also accused of using his social media accounts to advertise trading and betting platforms.

The official notice also warned that if someone fails to appear, it will be assumed that he has “nothing to present or state in his defence.”
