The national selection committee has undergone formal modifications, as notified by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The PCB officially announced on Wednesday morning that Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq had been kicked off the national selection committee.
Abdul Razzaq addressed his termination on the social networking site “X” after the news was made. Posting, “If all were given equal power, how can one vote overpower the other 6 in the selection committee?” Razzaq questioned the committee’s decision-making procedure.
Wahab Riaz, a former pacer, also posted his reflections on his time as a player and the team-based aspect of the selection process on ‘X,’ the old name for Twitter. “As my tenure on the PCB selection committee draws to an end, I would like my people to know that I have given my all to improve Pakistani cricket and have served the game with faith and sincerity.” Riaz made a post.
Furthermore, the former cricket player went on, “Being a member of the selection panel has been an honor. It was an honor to work together as a team to make judgments as part of the seven-man panel that chose the national team; each vote had equal weight, and we shared equal responsibility for the process.
Along with his support, Riaz mentioned the coaching staff under Gary Kirsten’s direction and their goals for the club. “I wish them the best of luck on that journey, and I am confident that the team plans the coaches have put together will ensure this team continues to grow into a dominant force as we move forward,” he remarked.
