Islamabad, March 21, 2025: Federal Finance Minister and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with Ms. Natalie Baker, Charge d’Affaires and Acting US Ambassador to Pakistan, at the Finance Division today.
The meeting centered on strengthening economic relations and attracting increased US investment in key sectors of Pakistan’s economy.
During the discussion, the Finance Minister provided an overview of the government’s economic reform strategy, aligning with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision for sustainable development and export-driven growth.
He outlined major steps being taken to enhance economic productivity, including privatization of state-owned enterprises, improvements in taxation policies. Restructuring of the energy sector, and optimizing government operations for better efficiency.

Ms. Natalie Baker praised Pakistan’s economic resilience and acknowledged the government’s commitment to implementing essential but challenging reforms.

US Ambassador Treiterated the US government’s continued support in strengthening bilateral trade, encouraging foreign investment, and fostering deeper economic collaboration.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared objective of expanding economic ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to creating an investor-friendly environment and is eager to work with international partners to drive long-term economic growth.
