Islamabad, Sep 12: In a thrilling series of matches, the Afghanistan National Cricket Team has showcased their exceptional skills and determination. The team, known for its rapid rise in international cricket, delivered a series of impressive performances that have left fans and critics alike in awe.
After initially criticising Noida Stadium in India for lacking the necessary facilities to hold a Test match against New Zealand, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has issued a revised statement.
The Asia-Pacific Cricket Board (ACB) reportedly chastised the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for providing a venue with insufficient resources.
Three options for the location were presented to the Afghan team: Bengaluru, Kanpur, and Noida. They chose Noida for logistical reasons as well as other considerations, as it is near to Delhi, the capital of the country.
Noida sounded convenient, said Afghan squad manager Minhajuddin Raza, because it was only two hours distant from Delhi.
But the stadium became a “nightmare” because of its inadequate amenities.
The ACB then apologized, claiming that Noida was their home ground since 2016 and that they had played multiple white-ball matches there in spite of these worries.
A source within the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed that future games will be relocated to Lucknow, citing the lack of basic facilities as the primary reason.
