Director General of Public Relations (DGPR) Navy Commodore Ahmed Hussain SI(M) is upgraded to the common rank of Rear Admiral. Rear Admiral Hussain is a highly experienced officer in various command and staff positions and head of a fleet of Pakistan Navy vessels. A press statement issued Friday notes that he has also been in charge of the US-led coalition CTF-151 operation in Bahrain.
Having received the coveted Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) for distinguished service, Rear Admiral Hussain has played a significant role in improving the level of transparency and communication between the Pakistan Navy and people. His duties include media briefs, outreach campaign oversight, and release of the strategic Navy message into national media.
This promotion is being timed when efficient naval communication is paramount under the circumstances of a changing maritime environment in the region and the international security issues.
