Islamabad, Mar 14, 2025: Malaysia’s AirAsia is gearing up to commence flight operations to Pakistan, unveiling a direct air link between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur.
The airline has successfully secured approval from Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and flights are set to take off starting May 30, 2025.
At the outset, AirAsia will conduct four flights weekly, ensuring a cost-effective travel solution for passengers commuting between the two nations.
Experts in the aviation industry suggest that this initiative will not only boost connectivity but also generate employment opportunities and facilitate the Pakistani diaspora residing in Malaysia.
AirAsia X CEO Benyamin Ismail conveyed his excitement regarding this expansion, emphasizing Karachi’s significant economic value and strategic positioning.

He highlighted that this newly introduced route would offer travelers seamless access to other key destinations, including Australia, China, and Thailand.
To celebrate the launch, AirAsia is rolling out exclusive promotional fares, with one-way tickets priced at RM959 from Kuala Lumpur to Karachi and Rs. 64,990 for the return journey.
These discounted rates will remain available for booking until April 20, 2025, applicable for travel between May 30, 2025, and March 27, 2026.
The airline anticipates transporting over 100,000 passengers per year through this route, further strengthening tourism and trade relations between Malaysia and Pakistan.
