Islamabad, 23 March 2025: Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi alongside his French partner Magali Girard, claimed the gold medal in the Mixed Doubles category at the ITF Masters 40+ World Championship.
In an intense final, Aisam and Magali staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Germany’s Katharina Rath and Andreas Theussen 7-5, 6-3. After trailing 2-5 in the first set.
The duo fought back to take it 7-5 before dominating the second set to secure the title.
Following the victory, Aisam expressed his happiness, stating that he was grateful for the strength and resilience to win another gold medal for Pakistan.
The seasoned tennis star dedicated the win to the nation, calling it a special gift on Pakistan Day, March 23.
Aisam’s success did not stop there, as he went on to secure another gold medal in the Men’s 45 Doubles category at the ITF Masters World Championship on March 22.
Partnering with fellow Pakistani tennis star Aqeel Khan, the pair displayed complete dominance throughout the tournament.
After receiving a first-round bye, they cruised through the second round with a commanding 6-0, 6-2 victory over Okan Okyay and Lebit Umut Yurtoglu.
Their winning streak continued in the quarterfinals, where they secured a 6-3, 6-2 win against Philipp Heger and Aleksander Wrobel.
The semifinals saw them overpower Carsten Groeger and Pedro Nieto Orellana with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 triumph.
The final proved to be the most challenging match, as they faced Finland’s Lari Kiiski and Sweden’s Andreas Lindgren.
The first set saw a nail-biting tiebreaker, with Aisam and Aqeel edging out a 13-11 win. However, they took complete control in the second set, dominating 6-0 to claim the gold.
Aisam’s stellar performances at the ITF Masters highlight his continued excellence in international tennis, bringing further glory to Pakistan.
