Islamabad, June 25, 2025: Pakistani authorities announced Wednesday that they have arrested 10 individuals. These individuals are accused of working for India’s intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). The arrests came from coordinated operations across Punjab and Sindh.
The Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) detained six Pakistani nationals. They were allegedly acting as facilitators for RAW. This happened during a targeted operation called ‘Operation Yalghar’. According to Punjab Additional Inspector General Shahzada Sultan, the arrests were made in Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar.
The suspects were reportedly planning attacks on mosques and railway stations. “We have arrested one RAW facilitator from Bahawalpur and two Indian spies from Bahawalnagar,” Sultan said at a press conference in Lahore. He called the operation a major success. It helps counter foreign-sponsored terrorism. Audio recordings of two Indian intelligence officers were recovered as evidence.
Investigators identified the Indian officers as Major Ravindra and Inspector Singh. They allegedly provided improvised explosive devices (IEDs). These were given to the facilitators near the Pakistan-India border. The CTD stated that the planned attacks. were to be funded through cryptocurrency and branchless banking.

This shows a sophisticated financial network. Punjab CTD officials also linked recent terrorist incidents. In Mianwali and Dera Ghazi Khan. They believe these were funded by Afghanistan. RAW allegedly supported Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) elements in those regions. However, authorities clarified that no direct connection has been found. between the Punjab-based network and a separate RAW cell.
That cell was dismantled in Karachi earlier the same day. “All individuals arrested in Operation Yalghar are Pakistani citizens,” Sultan emphasized. He added that Pakistan intends to raise the issue. of India’s alleged involvement in terrorism. This will be done at international forums.
In Karachi, security agencies and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU). arrested four more suspects. They are accused of working for RAW. According to SSP Shoaib Memon, the suspects were in direct contact. with Indian Army Colonel Ranjit. They were allegedly providing sensitive information. This included photographs and geotagged locations. of military installations.
This information went to handlers across the border. Authorities recovered explosives, a vehicle, and weapons. from the Karachi suspects. All of them are residents of the Sujawal district. They reportedly crossed the Indian border more than 20 times. Cases under anti-state and espionage charges have been registered. Investigations are ongoing. to identify further accomplices.
