Islamabad, Aug 23: Directorate Agriculture Research, Tando Jam, Al-Ghazi Tractors Limited, in partnership with the Agriculture Department, Government of Sindh, proudly announces the successful completion of the transformative “Khud Mukhtar Baa Waqar” workshop, which took place from August 20 to 21.
Forty-three driven young women came together for this transformative two-day course, which gave them the tools they needed to succeed in the agriculture industry. These participants learned a great deal about contemporary agricultural instruments through practical workshops and hands-on learning, especially with regard to Al-Ghazi’s selection of tractors and implements, which would pave the way for Pakistan’s economic independence and sustainable farming methods.
Attended the event’s closing ceremony were AGTL representatives, Secretary of Agriculture Sindh, Mr. Rafique A. Burero, Director General of the Agriculture Engineering Department, Shuhab Uddin Abro, and Minister of Agriculture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Supply & Prices, Inquiries and Anti-Corruption, Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar. The first part of the workshop covered an overview of Al-Ghazi’s tractor product line as well as the financial advantages and new business prospects that come with owning a tractor.
During the second day of the program, participants got hands-on training and learned how to operate and repair tractors. These women developed the self-assurance and abilities necessary to truly influence their farming communities by earning tractor driving licenses and getting practical driving experience.
A participant from an agricultural background named Amna Baloch stated: “I never thought I could drive a tractor and I have never received training like this before.” I’m eager and self-assured to help out with my family’s farming now.
Women’s participation in agriculture is crucial, according to AGTL Head of Legal Maham Nabeel, who stated: “Empowerment and inclusivity are more than just buzzwords—they are essential drivers of innovation and progress.” Our goal is to make sure that women’s potential is fully fulfilled in agriculture, where they are essential but frequently disregarded. We at Al-Ghazi Tractors are dedicated to creating an environment where all women can grow, lead, and contribute to the creation of a thriving future for Pakistan.”
Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, the Minister of Agriculture, Anti-Corruption, Sports, and Youth Affairs, also spoke at the function and emphasized the significance of these kinds of programs. “Women are the backbone of rural development, so we must support these initiatives,” he said. Our goal is to develop rules that would enable women to own tractors at a reduced cost and utilize them for their own farms or as rental properties for other people. A solid collaboration between the public and commercial sectors can help us make the progress we want.
In order to celebrate the participants’ accomplishments and signal the successful conclusion of the course, certificates were given to them.
