Islamabad, Apr 11, 2025: Alex Carey has withdrawn from the upcoming PSL X, Islamabad United confirmed ahead of their opener against Lahore Qalandars.
The Australian wicket-keeper had been brought in as a partial replacement for South African batter Rassie van der Dussen, who was initially unavailable.
However, due to domestic cricket responsibilities in Australia, the 33-year-old will not be travelling to Pakistan for the upcoming edition of event.
The team management disclosed the update, expressing that while the absence of Carey is a setback, the squad remains confident in its available resources.

The defending champions have also indicated that van der Dussen is expected to return soon and rejoin the the squad for Pakistan Super League 10th season .
Islamabad United will begin their title defence today at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where they face a strong Lahore Qalandars side.
It is pertinent to mention here that the upcoming PSL marks its 10th edition, featuring six teams competing across 34 matches from April 11 to May 18.
All the matches are being held in four cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Multan.
Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host 13 games, including both Eliminators and the grand final showdown on May 18.

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is set to stage 11 matches, with the first Qualifier scheduled for May 13. Karachi and Multan will each host five fixtures.
Additionally, the much-awaited tournament schedule includes three double-headers, with two on Saturdays and one on Labour Day, May 1.
Despite the withdrawal of Carey, United will look to maintain their winning momentum with a solid lineup and the return of key players expected later in the tournament.
Yesterday, the PCB has banned South African cricketer Corbin Bosch for one year after his withdrawal from PSL 2025.
