Islamabad, Sep 29: Amb. Ahmad Highlights the Importance of Cultural Diplomacy in Strengthening Global Relations. Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, the Pakistani ambassador to France, stated on Sunday that the fashion industry was especially aware of the fashion industry’s expanding role in cultural diplomacy.
The ambassador shared his opinions at a multi-designer, multi-cultural fashion show that celebrated the distinctive fashion scenes and varied cultures of Pakistan, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. The event was organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Paris in association with Fashion London.
Ambassador Ahmad discusses the significance of cultural diplomacy. The fashion show was attended by a sizable crowd of people from a variety of backgrounds, including French officials and friends, diplomats, members of the business and fashion circles, students, and media.
According to a news release, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad greeted the guests of “Spring Summer 2025 Paris,” which included six up-and-coming designers who had all previously shown their collections abroad.
“While food, art, and sports all reveal a lot about a country’s culture, fashion holds a special place in its own right. The Embassy prioritized cultural diplomacy, and occasions such as this bring aspirations to life. The aim was to highlight our nation’s rich cultural legacy by forming connections and collaborating with friends,” he continued.
Ambassador Ahmad discusses the significance of cultural diplomacy. He claimed that just as the world changed, so did fashion, and Pakistan was host to innumerable lavish fashion weeks held there on a yearly basis.
He acknowledged the hard work of all designers, but said that there was always a story one of love, artistry, and tradition behind a fine piece of clothing. The attention to detail, the choice of fabrics, the color schemes, and the general idea of each collection all demonstrated this storytelling. According to a press release, the ambassador stated, “The designers, in one way or another, share with the world a portion of the rich cultural history of their countries.”
Upon introducing Geoff Cox, Executive Producer of Fashion London, the ambassador expressed gratitude for his enthusiasm and dedication in organizing a varied fashion show with the goal of enhancing the image of the fashion industry.
In expressing his opinions, Geoff Cox remarked that working with the ambassador and the embassy team on the show was a true honor and pleasure. The stunning apparel lines of designers Lenie Boya, Ana Bari, Natz Couture, Alex Le Mez, Karen Gold, and Omar Mansoor enthralled the guests.
