Islamabad, Nov 3: Ambassador Rizwan Sheikh Urges Pakistani-Americans in NY to Invest in Pakistan During Series of Meetings. During his hectic itinerary, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, met with a variety of Pakistani-Americans in New York. He discussed attempts to improve relations between Pakistan and the US and called for more cooperation in areas of shared interest.
In order to explore strategies for improving ties between the two nations, the ambassador also met with US Congressman Tom Suozzi, the Co-Chair of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus. A press release stated that the discussion’s main objectives were to advance people-to-people relationships, security collaboration, and economic partnership.
The Congressman was also invited to visit Pakistan by Ambassador Sheikh.Additionally, he spoke with well-known businessmen of Pakistani descent who represented important industries like food imports, transport and tourism, petroleum, textiles, and IT services.
According to the press release, the talks centered on strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries in order to promote mutual development. They received assurances from Ambassador Sheikh that he would assist them in their pursuit of cooperation and investment opportunities.
Additionally, he met with the office-bearers of the Humayoun Shabbir-led Pakistani American Community of Long Island (PACOLI). He was accompanied by Aamer Ahmed Atozai, Pakistan’s consul general in New York.
Initiatives to improve community welfare, such as providing skilled employment opportunities for Pakistani professionals in the IT and healthcare sectors, were the main topic of discussion during the conference.Ambassador Sheikh praised PACOLI’s work in fostering local political participation and emphasized the value of using the Pakistani-American network to strengthen commercial ties and solve communal issues.
Additionally, he reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to aiding its American diaspora. Additionally, Dr. Abid Sheikh hosted a community gathering where he highlighted efforts to increase commerce, investment, and community support.
The ambassador spoke with the New York chapter of the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) about collaboration in healthcare. He praised the Chapter’s contribution to the development of bilateral relations between the US and Pakistan in the humanitarian and social spheres.
