Islamabad, July 6, 2025: Billionaire Elon Musk has followed through his promise to launch a new political party in the US after President Donald Trump approved his much-debated budget legislation, named the “One Big, Beautiful Bill.”
On Saturday, Elon Musk announced on X the creation of the “America Party” to “give-back” freedom to the people and challenge what he described as the country’s “one-party system.”
Musk mentioned a poll he shared on Friday—Independence Day in the US—asking if voters “want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system” that has ruled American politics for nearly 200 years.
The yes-or-no poll received over 1.2 million votes. “By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it!” Musk posted on Saturday.
“When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,” he stated.
This step comes as Musk’s conflict with Trump deepens over the new budget law, which Musk believes will push the US toward bankruptcy.

Musk had warned earlier he would form a party and fund campaigns against lawmakers who backed the bill, expected to increase the US debt by $3.4 trillion over 10 years.
Trump has since warned of cutting federal funding for Musk’s firms and even suggested deporting him.
Musk also shared a plan to target specific Senate and House seats to make his party influential in future votes.
