Islamabad, July 17, 2025: In response to the worsening weather conditions, the Rawalpindi district administration has officially declared a one-day public holiday. This decision comes as part of safety measures to protect citizens from the ongoing extreme weather situation affecting the region.

The announcement was made through an official notification by the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi, urging all residents to avoid unnecessary travel and remain indoors for their safety. Schools, colleges, and government offices will remain closed during the holiday.

According to local authorities, the adverse weather, including heavy rainfall and strong winds, poses risks such as road hazards, water accumulation, and reduced visibility. Citizens are strongly advised to follow safety instructions and keep emergency supplies on hand.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of community cooperation, stating, “Public safety is our top priority. We urge everyone to stay alert, stay safe, and support one another during this time.”
