Islamabad, July 19, 2025: Airblue has formally filed a written application with the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority, seeking approval to launch flight operations to UK, sources reported.

As per the plan, the airline aims to operate a direct flight between Islamabad and Manchester starting in August.

Prior to this, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had already submitted its own application for resuming flights to the UK. Both PIA and Airblue are currently “awaiting permission from the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority to commence operations”.

This move comes after the UK’s Air Safety Committee has lifted UK restrictions on Pakistani airlines following air safety improvements.

A sense of relief and hope has spread among aviation officials, travelers, and overseas Pakistanis after the recent development.
