Islamabad, 19 May, 2025: Strong Winds Forecast has been issued by the national weather authorities as Islamabad braces for another wave of intense weather.
With temperatures exceeding 40°C in the capital, meteorologists have warned of gusty winds and rain later this evening, urging residents to stay cautious.
Rain Expected Across Northern and Central Regions
According to the latest advisory from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, showers and strong winds are expected to affect not only Islamabad but also its surrounding areas.
The stormy conditions are predicted to stretch into parts of Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Sargodha.

Further south and east, rainfall may extend to Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujrat, and Gujranwala.
Cities including Mianwali, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sheikhupura are also likely to witness similar weather disturbances. Authorities have advised residents in low-lying areas to remain alert.
In more remote zones such as Jhang, Noorpur Thal, and Bhakkar, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated, potentially affecting local travel and agricultural activities.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northern Areas Also on Alert
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, forecasts show incoming rainfall across several districts, including Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Battagram, Swabi, and Mansehra.
Light to moderate rainfall is also expected in Peshawar, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Charsadda, and Kurram, while areas such as Khyber, Waziristan, Bannu, Kohat, Hangu, and Dera Ismail Khan could also be impacted.
In Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Strong Winds Forecast has prompted concern, with thunderstorms expected to disrupt normal routines.
Dry and Extreme Heat in Balochistan
While much of northern and central Pakistan prepares for storms, Balochistan is expected to remain under a dry spell.

Temperatures across the province continue to remain abnormally high, with little to no rainfall forecast in the coming days.
