Apple has officially confirmed its next hardware event for September 9, 2024, at 10 AM PT, where the company is expected to launch the iPhone 17 lineup, the long-rumored iPhone Air, new Apple Watch models, and AirPods Pro 3.
iPhone 17 Series
The iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max may introduce bigger displays, a redesigned camera setup, and new color options like purple and green. Reports suggest:
- iPhone 17: 6.3-inch 120Hz display, 24MP front camera, starting price around $800.
- iPhone 17 Pro: Horizontal rear camera bar, aluminium band instead of titanium, priced near $1,100.
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: Slightly thicker body for a larger battery, price expected at $1,250.
Apple may also drop the 128GB option on Pro models, keeping 256GB to 1TB storage. Leaks hint at new TechWoven cases with a crossbody strap option.
iPhone Air: The Thinnest iPhone Ever
One of the most anticipated announcements is the iPhone Air, Apple’s thinnest phone yet at just 5.5 mm. It could replace the Plus model, featuring:
- 6.6-inch display
- Single rear camera
- Possible audio limitations due to slim design
- Estimated price between $899 and $950
The iPhone Air is seen as a step towards the foldable iPhone expected in 2026.
Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3, and SE 3
Apple is also preparing updates to its smartwatch lineup:
- Apple Watch Ultra 3: May add faster charging, 5G, satellite support, and possibly blood pressure monitoring. Expected price: $800.
- Apple Watch Series 11: Health upgrades including blood pressure alerts, priced at $400.
- Apple Watch SE 3: Entry-level model with a larger display, priced around $250.
