Apple is reportedly in early talks with Google to potentially use its Gemini AI model to revamp Siri, according to a report by Bloomberg. Sources suggest that Apple has approached Alphabet, Google’s parent company, about building a custom AI model that could serve as the foundation for a more advanced version of Siri, expected to launch next year.
The proposal reportedly involves Google training the AI model to run on Apple’s servers, aligning with Apple’s strong emphasis on user privacy and on-device processing.

Other AI Players Under Consideration
Apple has not made a final decision and is still evaluating alternatives, including Anthropic’s Claude and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which are also being considered to strengthen Siri’s capabilities.
According to insiders, Apple remains several weeks away from deciding whether to proceed with one of these external models or rely on its internally developed AI solutions. While the company has made some internal progress, its generative AI offerings have yet to match the performance and features of competing models, leaving Siri lagging behind rivals.
Apple continues to highlight privacy and local data processing as core pillars of its AI strategy, factors that may ultimately influence which partner—or path—the company chooses.
