The government Hajj scheme 2026 has received an overwhelming response, with 118,060 pilgrims from across Pakistan submitting their applications. Officials have now stopped accepting new applications, just 17 days after the process began.

Sources from the Ministry of Religious Affairs said applications were accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, both online and through designated banks. The unusually high number of applicants led to the quota being filled much earlier than in previous years.

Pilgrims applied for both long and short-duration Hajj packages. The ministry confirmed that half of the Hajj charges were collected as the first installment, while the remaining balance will be taken later.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs will now review the applications and provide instructions to the selected pilgrims. With the application process finishing ahead of schedule, preparations for Hajj 2026 are expected to progress faster than usual.

This year, the government has raised the official Hajj quota to 70%, aiming to accommodate more pilgrims under the Hajj 2026 scheme.
