Islamabad, July 31, 2025: Students aiming to study in the USA now have a major opportunity at their doorstep. The American University has opened applications for its highly competitive Emerging Global Leader Scholarship (AU EGLS) for the 2026 intake.
What makes this scholarship special is that it covers all major costs including full tuition fees, accommodation and meals for the full four years of undergraduate studies. On top of that, the university also offers partial scholarships worth up to $40,000 per year to a few additional applicants.

Who Should Apply?
The scholarship targets students who:
- Come from diverse or underrepresented communities
- Are currently in secondary/high school and will graduate by June 2025
- Hold a strong academic record with at least a 3.8 GPA out of 4.0 or equivalent
- Have shown leadership skills and worked on community service initiatives
- Meet one of the English language requirements (e.g., IELTS 7.0+, TOEFL 95+, Duolingo 125+, etc.)
Applicants from IB and A-Level systems must meet specific course and graduation requirements. Full IB Diploma with 3 HL subjects or 3 A-Levels completed before August 2025 is required.

How to Apply?
To be considered, applicants must:
- Submit the Common or Coalition Application to American University before January 15, 2026
- Upload all academic records and supporting documents
- Complete the AU EGL Scholarship application and submit required essays via the applicant portal by the same deadline
