Islamabad 5 August : Marking Youm-e-Istehsal, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, alongside the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Air Staff, and the Pakistan Armed Forces, expressed unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
In a statement released by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the armed forces reiterated their support for the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for self-determination, as enshrined in international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
The ISPR condemned India’s ongoing occupation of IIOJK, highlighting the military siege, systemic human rights violations, and demographic engineering as grave breaches of international norms. The statement criticized India’s repressive actions and belligerent rhetoric, noting that they exacerbate regional instability and perpetuate human suffering. It emphasized that lasting peace in South Asia is unattainable without a just resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in line with Kashmiri aspirations and UN resolutions.
