Amid the current flood crisis, the military forces have been deployed in Hafizabad to facilitate rescue and relief efforts. The army has so far been summoned to help eight Punjab districts: Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Narowal, Hafizabad, Okara and Sargodha. The implementation is geared towards addressing the safety of the people and mitigating possible destruction of the rising water.

Punjab Home Department, as part of official correspondence (No. SOIS-13-14/2025), has sought the intervention of the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control to deploy troops and military aviation resources in Hafizabad. The Deputy Commissioner and head of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Hafizabad assured the incoming Minister that the military support was imperative in order to undertake urgent rescue activities and avert any untoward effects. The quantity of the resources and the personnel will be defined by the military around coordinating with the local authorities.

It has been directed that all related government and provincial departments be kept informed i.e. Chief Secretary of Punjab, IGP Punjab, PDMA, Divisional Commissioner Gujrat and other regional offices. The collaborative action guarantees that relief operations are undertaken effectively so that the affected communities receive help in time.
