Islamabad, Apr 8, 2025: As the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) gears up to begin on April 11, extensive security measures have been put in place across the host cities of Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
In preparation for the high-profile tournament, the Punjab Home Department confirmed that both Army and Rangers personnel will be deployed to ensure the safety of players, match officials, and spectators.
The deployment will remain in effect from April 6 to May 19, covering the entire duration of the event.
According to a spokesperson from the Punjab Home Department, one wing of the Rangers and two companies of the Pakistan Army will be stationed in each host city.

In addition to ground security, the deployment of Special Services Group (SSG) commandos and Army Aviation helicopters has also been requested to enhance surveillance and response capabilities.
The move comes amid expectations that PSL 10 will attract significant public interest, as well-known international cricketers and match officials are set to take part.
With matches scheduled between April 11 and May 18, thousands of fans are expected to attend, prompting authorities to implement a robust and multi-layered security strategy.

Officials have said that a formal request for these arrangements has already been forwarded to the Federal Ministry of Interior, showing the government’s firm commitment to delivering a safe and well-organised tournament.
The presence of elite forces, along with aerial monitoring, aims to deter any potential threats and provide a secure environment for the event.
Local police and traffic departments are also expected to work in coordination with the military to manage crowd control and route diversions during match days.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and follow official instructions to help ensure a smooth and peaceful PSL season.
