Islamabad, Aug 7, 2025: Arsenal vs Villarreal ended in a 3-2 loss for the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium despite standout moments from 15-year-old Max Dowman. Making his first home appearance, new signing Viktor Gyokeres had a quiet outing while former Arsenal forward Nicolas Pepe made headlines with an early goal for the Spanish side.

Pepe, who once commanded a record fee at Arsenal scored after a rebound from Pape Gueye’s header. Villarreal doubled their lead soon after when Karl Etta Eyong capitalized on a defensive lapse. Arsenal responded through a well-taken corner with Christian Norgaard heading in his first goal since joining from Brentford.

In the second half, Arsenal pushed hard. Gyokeres came close but was denied by Luis Junior. Villarreal then struck again on the counter, with Arnaut Danjuma slipping the ball past Kepa Arrizabalaga to make it 3-1.
