Islamabad, July 11, 2025: Pakistan’s Olympic medalist Arshad Nadeem has pulled out of the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Event in Switzerland, scheduled for July 15, due to a minor calf muscle issue. This decision comes as part of his careful strategy to prepare for the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Tokyo and the Paris Olympics.

Speaking about the decision, Arshad said, “I’ve experienced some tightness in my calf during training, so I chose not to take any risk. I’ll now travel to London on July 14 for a focused training camp.”

The national hero, who brought Pakistan its first Olympic medal in athletics, is now setting his sights on the Diamond League event in Poland on August 16. Skipping Switzerland allows him to recover fully and enter the global arena at his peak.

Training in Pakistan has become challenging due to extreme heat and the onset of monsoon rains. “The weather in England will help me recover and train better,” he said. His coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, will accompany him in the UK to oversee preparations.
