The 21st death anniversary of renowned writer, playwright, and broadcaster Ashfaq Ahmad is being observed today (Sunday).
Ashfaq Ahmad made remarkable contributions to Urdu literature and television. He wrote dozens of memorable dramas and also hosted the popular Radio Pakistan program “Talqeen Shah.”
Some of his most famous PTV plays include “Munchaley Ka Soda,” “Aik Muhabbat Sau Afsanay,” “Tota Kahani,” “Hairat Kada,” and “Afsaney.” His work left a lasting impact on Pakistan’s cultural and literary landscape.
In recognition of his contributions, he was honored with the Presidential Pride of Performance Award and Sitara-i-Imtiaz.

Ashfaq Ahmad passed away in Lahore on September 4, 2004, but his legacy continues to inspire readers and viewers across generations.
