The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has decided not to hand over the Asia Cup trophy to the Indian team, even at a later stage, keeping the trophy instead at the ACC headquarters.
According to sources, the decision was taken in response to the Indian players’ behavior, as they had outright refused to accept the trophy during the presentation ceremony. ACC President Mohsin Naqvi stood firm against the Indian team’s attitude and confirmed that the trophy would not be awarded.
Meanwhile, frustrated by being denied the original trophy, some Indian players resorted to posting doctored images on social media. Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill shared a photo showing themselves standing with a trophy, though the team had not received the actual one due to their defiance.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav also faced tough questions from journalists over the issue, with one reporter pressing him directly about the trophy, but Yadav appeared evasive in his response.
