The match was paused for over 20 minutes after home fans threw objects onto the pitch, causing a disruption in the 69th minute, shortly after Eder Militao had put Real Madrid ahead.
The incident arose when objects were thrown at Real’s goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, who alerted the referee. Post-match, Courtois was diagnosed with a hip injury and is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks.
Following the lengthy delay, Atletico intensified their attack, culminating in Correa scoring from close range in the fifth minute of added time after a swift counterattack.

Atletico came alive after the break, especially after the introduction of Brazilian winger Samuel Lino, who injected energy into their play. Just as they seemed poised to score, Vinicius Jr. crossed from the left wing to Militao, who scored with a powerful half-volley.
The match was halted again as objects were thrown onto the pitch during Real’s celebrations. The referee, Mateo Busquets Ferrer, sent the players to their dressing rooms, warning that further disturbances could lead to the game being abandoned.
