Islamabad, Sep 8: Illegal Appointments at AIOU 99 workers were unlawfully appointed during the 2022–2023 term, according to an audit study. The results showed that provincial and regional quotas were disregarded by the authorities.
According to the investigation, the appointments were made without following the required processes, such as publishing an announcement in the public, which is required by the Establishment Division’s standards.
Furthermore, the auditors were not given access to test-based merit lists or the candidates’ exam papers for inspection.
The study also made clear that these appointments were not made in accordance with the Selection Board’s recommendations, and that fundamental eligibility requirements were not met prior to the screening exam.
Illegal Appointments at AIOU—especially those for Grade 19 to Grade 9 positions—have been ruled unlawful. Until the filing of this report, the university administration had not provided an official reaction to the audit’s conclusions.
