Islamabad, June 26, 2025: The opening day of the first Australia Vs West Indies test in Bridgetown saw a flurry of wickets, with 14 falling in total during a chaotic start.

After electing to bat, Australia collapsed to just 180 runs inside 57 overs. Jayden Seales claimed 5-60 while Shamar Joseph took 4-46, dismantling a fragile Australian batting lineup. Travis Head (59) and Usman Khawaja (47) offered brief resistance, but the rest of the order crumbled under sustained pressure.

Australia hit back with the ball in the evening session. Mitchell Starc struck twice early, removing openers Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell. Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood then added to the damage, reducing West Indies to 57-4 by stumps.

This is Australia’s first Test in the Caribbean in a decade and they fielded a reshuffled top order in the absence of Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. Teen debutant Sam Konstas and recalled Josh Inglis failed to make an impact, managing just 3 and 5 runs respectively.
